Little Chalfont Tennis Club

Welcome to the new season.....Spring 2011

we have some great plans for 2011-12

Committee
Joanna Hale - Chairman Jean Kelly - Secretary Terry Ansell - Treasurer
Carol Daw (Grounds) Sandra Funk (Supplies) Kirsten Stein

We are grateful to Alison Smith as Junior Organiser; Frances Billington as Membership Secretary; Olwen Maeers as Fixture Secretary; all our Team Captains; Pat May for organising the 100 Club; Mike Egan who has undertaken to look into improving the floodlights and the many other members who help in various ways.
Additional committee members would be very welcome and there are also several key roles which can be shaped to suit your talents, on or off the Committee. We particularly need a Web Master and people who might help organise Court and Clubhouse Maintenance. PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW YOU CAN HELP IN ANY AREAS THAT YOU HAVE NOTICED NEED ATTENTION.

Coaching We are delighted to welcome *Paul Dent* as our *new Head Coach*. Paul is putting together a great tennis programme for us for all ages. Come along to *Meet the New Coach Day* on *Saturday 5 March* from 09.30. Many thanks to Mark and Simon for the coaching they have provided over many years. I am glad that Paul has arranged for them to continue some private lessons with their existing clients, but all other requests for coaching should be addressed to *Paul: mobile 07973 751462* and email paul@pauldent.co.uk

Annual Subscriptions, Tournaments and Teams Our new season starts on 1 March. Subscriptions are excellent value, held at last year's reduced rates. We have entered a variety of teams for weekend and midweek matches. The Club Doubles Tournaments will build on previous years' success in the Preparatory Rounds in one day format on 1 and 22 May while the Singles will be for the participants to arrange. Finals Day will be from noon on Sunday 10 July. Please complete and return your subscription form promptly. The entry codes will change on 1 April.

Club Sessions Club sessions are a great opportunity to meet the other members and play together and the clubhouse is available for table tennis in case of rain. The best way to find other players is to arrive promptly at 09.00 on the mornings of Tuesday, Saturday and sunday all the year round. The ladies continue to meet from about 19.00 on Wednesdays at least during the main season. Paul plans to set up opportunities for organised play at other times. However, court space is usually available: phone another member and arrange to play whenever suits. You may bring a guest (up to 4 times) for a fee of £5 per visit, (£3 for those aged under 26) deductible from the subscription if your guest joins the club this year.

Most of all: please play regularly and encourage your friends and neighbours to join and do the same!

Enjoy your tennis!
