I'm your new Chairman, Joanna Hale: many thanks to Kirsten Stein for all her hard work, especially on resurfacing the courts. Thanks to Jean Brock for her work during the year and for continuing to help with social events. Your committee is:

Key Responsibilities
We're grateful to Frances Billington as Membership Secretary; Olwen Maeers as Fixture Secretary; all our Team Captains; Pat May for organising the 100 Club; and the many other members who help in various ways, some of which I've yet to discover!
Opportunities to get involved
Your committee would welcome additional committee members and there are also several key roles. We particularly need:

Please let me know how you can help in any areas that you've noticed need attention. If you prefer not to take responsibility for a particular role, please come and help at one of the Working Days: Saturday 27 March and Tuesday 27 April. Most of all: please play regularly and encourage your friends and neighbours to join and do the same!
Annual subscriptions, tournaments and teams
Our new season starts on 1st March. Subscriptions are excellent value, held at last year's reduced rates. We've entered a variety of teams for weekend and midweek matches. The club Tournaments will build on the success of the Single Day format trialed in 2009 with a Finals day on Sunday 5 September. Please complete and return your applicaiton promptly with your tournament entries. The entry codes will change on 1 April.
Club sessions
club sessions are a great opportunity to meet other members and play together and the clubhouse is available for table tennis in case of rain. The best chance of finding other players is to arrive promptly.
- Mornings of Tuesday, Saturday and sunday from 9am all the year round.
- Evenings from about 7pm April to July: Wednesday - ladies have priority; Thursday men have priority (from 7.30pm during junior coaching).
- New Friday evening sessions: first Fridays of March - October from 6.30pm. (We have at least one volunteer for each of these - please come and join us!)
Court space is usually available: phone another member and arrange to play whenever suits. You may bring a guest (up to 4 times) for a fee of £2 per visit, deductible from the subscription if they then join the club.
Coaching
Free coaching is provided for all Juniors in groups during the appropriate junior sessions on Mondays or Thursdays from 4.30 - 7.30pm in the summer term. Our Club coach, Mark Scholfield, also runs courses in the school holidays and squads throughout the year. Additional individual and small group coaching for all ages and skill levels can be arranged. These are listed separately under Events in the index. We'll publicise more details of these and other events as they approach but please put the dates in your diary now.
4P's
- Parking: show neighbourly consideration. Use only the Club's designated spaces taking care not to block any residents' spaces or the turning space.
- Power: think green and of the Club's finances and turn off unnecessary lights. Do remember that we are not allowed to use the floodlights after 9pm.
- Privacy: remember how close we are to the neighbouring houses and respect their privacy. Don't attempt to retrieve balls from their gardens and keep noise down to an acceptable level.
- PLEASE remember to close and lock the clubhouse door and the bottom gate if you're the last to leave.
